Rabbit-proof honey bee plants

What do you do if your garden planting is already restricted by having to look for rabbit proof plants and you want to provide honey bee fodder?

Roy Lancaster’s book ‘Perfect Plant, Perfect Place’ is my bible for tricky planting conditions.  He invariably offers an attractive and unusual variety even if you’re bored of the restricted choice!

Here’s the list:

Pollen only:  Anemone x hybridaElephant’s ears (Bergenia spp.), Japanese anemone (Anemone x hybrida), lungwort (Pulmonaria officianlis).

Nectar & pollen:  Lady’s Mantle (Alchemilla mollis),  Helleborus nigerhellebore (Helleborus spp.), dead nettle (Lamium spp.), aster (Aster spp.), red hot poker (Kniphofia spp.), catmint (Nepeta spp.) and ice plant (Sedum spp.)Ice plant.
